Dancing is good for your relationship

Whether you are a new couple, preparing for your wedding, starting a family or happily celebrating a milestone anniversary, there is nothing better than dancing to bring you closer to your partner. Rather than the hard work often associated with maintaining a good relationship, dancing offers a fun and fanciful way to stay connected. So dust off your dance shoes and prepare to become entwined with your other half. Learning together If neither of you is a natural dancer, then

Which is better for you - Yoga or Dancing?

There are many similar health benefits between the two disciplines and many dancers advocate yoga as a great way of keeping fit enough for their dance classes, but when compared and contrasted, it seems dancing is generally better for you. Total Body Workout Yoga is undeniably good for your body as the core is constantly engaged while the standing postures build leg strength and the twisting poses massage internal organs. However, the practice is predominantly peaceful and it

    Get Social. With DANCE.

We all know the health benefits of dancing, but alongside the fitness aspect lies an equally valuable improvement to your social life – dancing isn’t known as the most fun exercise available for nothing. Find new friends fast Most dance classes don’t require you to bring a partner; instead you are paired with someone and then systematically moved around, so by the end of the evening you will have met everyone at least once. When you attend a dance class, you will be with othe

Waltzing T-Rex, Flapping Cuban Chicken on a thousand mile journey

“Okay, pause for a second,” she says, holding one hand up and gripping her chin with the other. We are frozen mid-step, as the senior instructor walks around to inspect the situation further. “I think I see the problem.” She squints, frowns slightly, nods seriously to herself and then shares a conspiratorial look with our teacher and my wife. And? “You’re looking like a T-Rex,” she laughs uproariously, bringing her elbows close into her hips and waggling her forearms frantica

    Rhythm dances for all occasions

Cha Cha This dance remains so popular because it is the best dance for couples to dance to when the band or DJ plays up-tempo pop music. The music could be a classic from earlier in the 20th century, a retro hit from the '80s or '90s or a chart busting Top 40 modern song. If it's high energy and up-beat, Cha Cha is the best way to go! Rumba The lights go down and the mood is set. The band or DJ plays a romantic ballad. Time to dance the Rumba! The Rumba is still your best opt

4 dances that are truely timeless

    1. Waltz As well as being a beautiful dance in its own right with plenty of modern artists composing songs in the Waltz's classic 3/4 time, the Waltz teachers the foundation patterns that form the basis for most dance styles. 2. Tango Tango dancing is a true pleasure all by its self. The distinctive phrasing of the dance helps develop a sense of musicality that can then be translated to other styles of dance. Also, Tango is a great place to learn all about Lead and Follow. 3.
