"Neighbours" and "Playing For Keeps" star Olympia Valance is trying her feet at Ballroom dancing on the brand new incarnation of Dancing with the Stars (season 19 - now on Network 10).
When asked whether she hesitated before signing up for the show she had this to say:
“I’ve always wanted to know how to ballroom dance. I’ve watched the show every year and I wanted to try something that I’ve never done before and how cool would it be to whip out a freaking tango or go to a salsa bar… how cool would that be?”
It’s great to hear a celebrity share the same sentiments that so many people have about the excitement of learning to dance.
Once training had gotten under way Olympia was asked what was the best thing about the experience so far:
“The clothes, the makeup, the hair, the glitz, the glam, the learning a new skill, the dancing!”
One of the great things about Ballroom dancing is that you don’t need to be a star to experience a bit of “glitz and glam”.
The take home message: Don’t just spectate, participate. Be like Olympia, dance like a star!
